I have hinted and spoken vaguely on the details behind this new 'Beloved' technique I have been studying and adapting since attending the Jesh de Rox class at WPPI 2011 in February. Many of you have even accused me of 'crying wolf' claiming that I was just full of hot air and honestly a fake. How wrong and hurtful that was. However I have grown a lot as a person this year as I have studied under Jesh de Rox and panel of other talented visionary photographers that those words do not sting or last long, this life is short and preserving relationships is a portion of the magic behind 'Beloved.'
I have now begun to offer 'Beloved' sessions. A 'Beloved' session is not a normal photo shoot by any means. 'Beloved' is about remembering why we love one another, forgiveness and life.
A few weeks ago while I worked with the Terrell family I integrated a few 'Beloved' invites into the session. There is something powerful when you invite muses into a sacred place where they can trust and open up to you in a way that normal photo sessions offer. These images are just the start of the new direction and angle I have moved to. I hope you enjoy them as I have never felt so fulfilled in this career as I have started to feel now. -AG
